A Cake for Every Table

Overwhelmed by the all the details of your wedding? The florals, the DJ, should there be candles? What if some of these elements served more than one function? That would be great!
Instead of one large cake as the centerpiece of the reception, many couples are choosing to kill two birds with one stone and have small cakes as the centerpieces of the guest tables. In fact, this is what I chose to do for my wedding. All the cakes were different flavors, and guests mixed and mingles to try them. It was a great way for the guests to meet one another!
I met Laura of LaDiDa Beauty through Societe Privee, a luxury wedding professionals networking group. She loved my cakes, but she’s on the west coast and I make wedding cakes for Charleston, New York, Atlanta and Miami. Her next Societe Privee chapter meeting was in Napa and asked if I could ship some custom cakes for the Valentine’s Day Brunch. Girl, I got you!
To fit the theme the cakes were various shades of pink, peach and red, and were all different flavors: Chocolate, Carrot and Almond. The cakes featured some of my favorite buttercream painted flowers: rose, peony and king protea. And yes, as you can see they arrived in perfect condition all the way from Charleston, SC to Reno, NV and a car ride from Reno to Napa, CA! I spy a little bit of crumb from some movement of the chocolate cake, which can be easily wiped away, but other than that I’m so thrilled with the results.
