New York Bridal Fashion Week
What’s a cake designer doing at New York Bridal Fashion Week? It sounded counter-intuitive to me too. My cakes have virtually nothing to do with the bridal gown, except, of course, if I’m supposed to recreate a pattern on the dress. Still, I got a nudge from the events community that New York Bridal Fashion week was the place to be. So I booked my flight and hotel - no plans - just the contact information of a few friends. I had no idea what I was in for!

White Wedding Cakes

A Cake for Every Table
Instead of one large cake as the centerpiece of the reception, many couples are choosing to kill two birds with one stone and have small cakes as the centerpieces of the guest tables.

My Artistic Inspiration Sources
People never ask my where I get my inspiration for my cake designs, they just assume: “You must really love flowers!” Yes, it’s true. I do really love flowers. But you won’t find me spending hours in a botanical garden. When I first started decorating cakes I was deeply moved by the work of genius florists in Russia and eastern Europe. Their work sparked what many would consider my unique, colorful, signature style. But as all artists do, I matured and sought out inspiration elsewhere.
